4th of July 10K…
I decided to run for Independence today. I ran for those who have fought and served for freedom…in which we have today. It was the 4th Independence run in Elk Grove, California. This picture was taken moments before the race began. There were tons of folks starting off, then we split halfway through the race from the 5k to the 10k, which made it less crowded. I ran the 6 miles and made it under an hour. Thought my timing should have been better. In my age bracket it’s 40 minutes. Guess I am a bit out of shape! I bought a wrist water bottle, which helps! What a difference! There was only 1 drinking station during the race, so I am happy I brought my wrist running bottle. My best friend Lauren bought me a running watch for a belated b-day gift, it’s really nice, and excited to test it out on my next run.
Off to work for the 4th! Hope everyone has a good Independence Day!
